Knowledge & Experience




People today get confuse with Knowledge and Experience, with this confusion there are lot of places where the illogical fights in subjective discussion without knowing the actual objectives. I thought of giving a small write ups with few examples how this can be discriminate from self experience which is very common in nature.


Before getting into the example, I would like to state the basic understanding of these words as below,


What is Knowledge?


Knowledge can be broadly categorize into two such as Practical & Theoretical. Of course the Practical knowledge can be yield from an experience. Theoretical knowledge can be yield from awareness, reading books, factual incidents etc.,


What is Experience ?


Experience is something by feeling or acting to the factual incidents such as eating foods, drawing art , playing games etc.,. Basically more of an execution , acting on factual incidents.


How Knowledge and Experience are getting overlap?


Knowledge can be differ case to case and can be vary for same nature of work.


For Eg., Person A has a sound practical knowledge "How to Implement a JAVA based application". Person B has a sound experience in "How to deal with the customer by being in Onsite" .Assuming there is an opportunity for Person A to Implement the Java based application in customer place where Person B is at Onsite.


Given with this case , Can Person A implement the solution without help of Person B who has sound experience on how to deal with customer. And also can Person B can successfully implement the solution without the help of Person A who has a sound practical knowledge in Solution. This is where the most frequent problem come is whether the Knowledge of Person A has to be give with the preference or Person B experience to be given with an importance. I am sure in today's IT world, we face this problem most frequently and most of the time this may end in a illogical closure just by not understanding the contextual importance.


I would see the cause of such problem as follows,


1. It could be misunderstanding.

2. No process in place to handle such conflicts

3. Else the process is not followed by these Individuals.


With these above stated cause, both Person A and Person B is most important to this Implementation and both should respect each other knowledge and experience as when its needed and rather dominating each other with their own strength. As these days, the strength are getting proved by dominating other weakness, which in other words people are defeating others by their inability rather by showing their talent. as now a days most frequently talent are getting groomed how to corner other with their inability which is not the right way of getting success.


With this set of fights, both Person A and Person B are losing their team spirit, rather over the point of time they are forgetting that they are from same team. With this , they are losing the vision of achieving their common goal of successful delivery of this Project. Both are equally good in their own area and they have to show their expertise in the right timings and place. Most importantly they should able to help each other and appreciate for their work rather annoying each other.
