Why Objectives Matter?

" Objectives are not commands, they are self-defined commitments".

In a pool of people in any project, we will normally carry our objectives both personally & Professionally.

For Eg., dealing with a different set of people can boost our interpersonal skills of a personal note. Learning new things like technologies, and processes from the Professional side.

Most of the time, we get into an issue within ourselves and with other team members while these objectives are not enough to motivate us to complete our task. While we feel this, we normally start reacting to forcefully insert all our objectives without any weightage, which in turn will affect our performance and team performance.

The one among the best way to avoid this is as follows,

By defining our Objectives very clearly at the beginning of the project.

  • No overlapping objectives with other functions, so that we can control our expectations.

  • Clear acceptance of the Objectives within ourselves and to the responsible person.

  • Continuous monitoring of the objectives to fulfill our satisfaction.

  • Respect our own decision or mistakes and go for appropriate corrections to redefine our objectives.

  • Excuse ourselves if the common objectives are not meeting our Objectives. This doesn't mean we are giving up, it means that we are going to a better place where our Objectives can be fulfilled without disturbing the Business ecosystem.

Most of the issue pops up when we skip any of the above steps. :)
